If you’re encountering difficulties signing in to your account while using two-step verification (2SV), consider the following troubleshooting steps:
Unable to Receive Verification Codes
If you’re not receiving 2SV codes on your phone, try the following:
- Confirm that your carrier isn’t blocking +1 (480) 360-5516.
- Ensure that your phone’s software is up to date.
- Disable any applications filtering or interfering with incoming SMS messages.
- Restart your phone and attempt to resend the 2SV code.
- Ensure that your device notifications are enabled.
- Turn off the Do Not Disturb feature.
- Verify that your device has a signal and a stable internet connection.
Lack of Access to Configured Device for 2SV
If you’ve lost access to your phone or don’t have it with you, attempt to sign in to your account using a backup 2SV method. If you haven’t configured a backup 2SV method, consider canceling two-step verification instead.
Here’s how to proceed:
- Log in to your US Domain Center account.
- When prompted for your 2SV code, select “Having trouble signing in.” If you see only one option for 2SV, it indicates that you haven’t set up a backup method.
- Choose a backup method, proceed with “Continue,” and complete the 2SV verification process.
Updating Phone Number for 2SV
Please note that your phone number in your US Domain Center’s “My Profile” section and 2SV are distinct entities. Changes made to your profile won’t automatically sync with 2SV. Therefore, ensure that your phone number is updated in both locations. If you’ve changed your phone number but didn’t update it for 2SV, consider signing in to your account using a backup 2SV method. If you lack a backup method, you can’t update your phone number for 2SV until you submit a request to cancel two-step verification.
Account Lockout Issue
If you’ve attempted to “resend code” multiple times, you may receive an error message stating, “To protect your account, we locked this verification method for 24 hours due to too many code requests.” In such cases, wait for 24 hours before attempting again.
